LA412UL solar package
A 12VDC arm opener package built around solar for home swing gates.
A solar gate opener is an automatic gate operator that runs from batteries charged by a solar panel instead of line power. It’s the practical choice for long rural driveways, ranch entries and gates where trenching power would be costly. How well it works depends on the panel’s sun, the gate’s weight and how often it runs. Eagle Automatic Gate & Door sizes and installs LiftMaster solar-ready openers and solar packages across the Bay Area, wine country and the hills.

Each of these runs from a solar panel and batteries. We pick the model by gate size and how often it opens.

“We install solar gate openers on ranch and hillside drives all over the Bay Area, where running power would cost more than the gate.”
Sometimes. Many current LiftMaster DC operators are solar-ready, so we add a panel kit and batteries and you’re done. Older AC openers can’t run on solar; they need replacing with a solar-ready DC model. Heavy gates that open dozens of times a day may also need more panel and battery than is practical. Call our specialist with your opener model and we’ll tell you what it takes.

Yes, with good panel placement. Most of the Bay Area gets enough sun year-round; deep shade or very heavy use may need a larger panel or batteries.
Yes. The panel charges batteries during the day, and the batteries run the gate at night and on cloudy days.
It depends on the operator, panel and battery size, the gate and access control. Every project starts with a free site visit and a written quote.
