What is a sliding gate operator?
A sliding gate operator is the motor unit that rolls a sliding gate open and closed. It sits on a concrete pad beside the gate and drives it with a chain or gear rack, with limits that stop it at each end and sensors that reverse it on an obstruction. Eagle Automatic Gate & Door installs, repairs and replaces slide gate operators on every major brand and installs the full LiftMaster slide range, from 12-volt home units to industrial operators.

“We install LiftMaster slide operators on gates from small home drives to industrial entries, and planning the space right is half the job.”
How much room does a sliding gate operator need?
The operator sits on a concrete pad inside the property, beside the gate at the closed end, usually about the footprint of a large mailbox plus clearance to service it. The chain runs the length of the gate, and the gate needs room behind it to roll back the full opening width. We also plan conduit for power and for photo eyes on both sides. Call our specialist and we’ll lay it out on site.

Sliding gate operator questions.
Still not sure? Call us and describe what your gate is doing.
Which sliding gate operator do I need?
It depends on the gate’s weight and length, how often it runs and the power at the gate. Our slide operators hub compares every model, or we size it on a free visit.
How much does it cost to install a sliding gate operator?
It depends on the model, pad, power or solar, safety devices and access control. Every install starts with a free visit and a written quote.
Why does my slide operator beep and stop?
LiftMaster operators stop and alarm after repeated obstructions: a blocked sensor, a dragging gate or debris in the track. We find and fix the cause.
Can a slide operator work in a power outage?
Yes, with battery backup. Most LiftMaster DC slide operators include it.
Chain or rack drive?
Most residential and commercial slide operators drive the gate with a chain; some heavy installs use a gear rack. We recommend what fits your gate.
Do you repair slide operators from other brands?
Yes. We repair and replace slide operators on every major brand.
Can I add myQ or a keypad to my slide operator?
Yes. We add keypads, intercoms, loop detectors and myQ app control.
Is a new operator covered by a warranty?
Yes. Operators carry the manufacturer’s warranty and our installation is backed by a parts and labor warranty.
