Posts and gates
We set the posts at the foot of the driveway and hung the two arched leaves so they swing clear of the rising slope.
A new automatic entry for a wooded hillside property: an arched double swing gate in black powder-coated steel at the foot of an uphill driveway, running on solar power, with an intercom for visitors.
The property sits at the top of a long concrete driveway that climbs through oak woodland. The owners wanted a gate at the bottom to keep the drive private, open it without getting out of the car, and let guests call up to the house.
A classic arched design with vertical pickets in black steel suited the trees and the setting. Running on solar, the gate needs no power line at the bottom of the drive.

A dual LiftMaster LA500UL went in, one arm on each leaf, with the control box and batteries charged by a solar panel.
We wired the intercom, set the open and close limits and obstruction sensitivity, and ran the gates through full cycles.
Each leaf has its own LA500UL arm, mounted low on the post and tucked under the bottom rail, run from one control box.
Both leaves swing in toward the property, away from the road, and open wide for trucks and deliveries.
A solar panel keeps the operator batteries charged, so the gate works without a power line at the bottom of the drive.
Visitors call the house from the gate, and the owners let them in without walking down the hill.
Every gate we install starts with a free visit and a written price. Tell us about your driveway and what you have in mind.
